Meet our Volunteers: Edouard Trau
We would like to introduce you to Edouard Trau, one of Zharity's new volunteers!
Born and raised in Strasbourg, at the age of 20 I developed a passion for travel and went abroad for my studies. I first moved to Mexico, then Spain and Chile, where I discovered a love for the Spanish language. After my studies, I looked for jobs in the UK and ended up living in London, which was a really great time. A few years later, I pursued a new career in Mexico City, before moving to Zurich.
As an outdoor person, I enjoy very much sports like skiing, SUP and biking. I am also passionate about music.
What personal experiences drew you to charity work?
Through my travels, I realized the social differences among different countries and always thought that I would like to help others and fight poverty. Generally, I try to organize all my trips in a sustainable and meaningful way so that I can help the local communities.
How did you get involved in Zharity?
The Power of Network! A few friends of mine are involved with Zharity. Hearing about the projects they were working on sparked my interest and so I decided to reach out to Zharity. One day, I had an introductory call with Alicia and Vicky. After having a great time on this call, I thought this was really for me.
What projects are you working on right now?
Initially I started with an IT project, but now I am more focused on organizing charity events, such as the Yoga in the Park, and supporting Zharity's Humanitarian projects.
