Bürkliplatz Farmers’ Market Tour
Please join us for a tour of the Bürkliplatz Farmers’ Market!
Longtime market-goer and Zharity Earth volunteer Abbie Fox will lead two tours of Zürich’s gourmet paradise, the Bürkliplatz Farmers’ Market. During the tours, we will sample delicious products, chat with the farmers, learn about Swiss customs, language, and specialty foods, and discuss the opportunities the market offers for sustainable, environmentally-friendly shopping.
Stops on the tour will include stalls for:
Organic and locally grown fruits and vegetables
Dairy products and meat from small farms that prioritize animal welfare
Local and sustainably caught fish
Homemade jams, spreads, marinated olives, and more
Handmade baked goods
Local cheeses
The market tours will be held in English, and participants will receive a market map with detailed vendor information as well as a guide to commonly used Swiss German phrases.
