Verein Members Have All the Fun!

The old saying is that “Many hands make light work.”  Did you know that Zharity is 100% volunteer run and only has about 30 Verein members and 20 Team Members?  And while this group is small - we have a large impact!  Our team redistributed over 200,000 items last year to individuals and our local communities in need, and created and sewed over 400 reusable pads for vulnerable women and girls.

Our Verein Members are paid members of the organization and have voting rights (and therefore say) in how our organization is run. Additionally, being a Verein member comes with some additional special perks!  During the next few months, we have a number of “Verein-only” or “Verein-invite first” events.  

Kit Making (Friday, May 9th):

On May 9th, we will be hosting a kit-making event at our storage unit in Dübendorf.  We will be making 300 School Supply Kits that will be distributed during the Summer to our local partners to help them get kids that they serve ready for Back-To-School.  This event will only be open first only to Verein members - and spaces are extremely limited.  Sign up will be emailed to Verein Members soon.

Volunteer Appreciation Event (Saturday, May 10th):

Save the Date for our annual Summer Volunteer Appreciation event.  This will be held on Saturday, May 10th - more details to be shared soon.  Come enjoy the fun side of volunteering by enjoying some food and beverages with your Zharity friends.  

Essen Für Alle Distribution (Saturday, June 14th):

We will continue our support of Essen Für Alle, a local food bank, in June by distributing feminine hygiene supplies.  There will be more details coming soon about that sign up…but save the date for Saturday, June 14th.  This event is exclusively reserved for Verein Members.

Our Verein only works when we have active and engaged volunteers to help support the work we do.  But we always have fun while doing this work.  We have many ideas for future projects, but we need help from YOU to make these projects happen.  At Zharity, there is something for everyone - Please check out the many volunteer roles we currently have open - we would love to see you!  And for those who are not yet Verein Members, please join us!  You can sign up HERE.
