2022 Accomplishments

2022 was an incredible year of doing good for Zharity. We have come on leaps and bounds in the last twelve months alone, and it feels hard to sum it all up here. Two years ago, we were serving four agencies and now we serve more than 50 local and international agencies. Just a year ago, we measured our donation success in carloads of deliveries. Now we can confirm we distributed over 50,000 items to those most in need. These items ranged from gently loved items to hygiene and food products.

This success wouldn’t be possible without the amazing people involved. From those we serve to our donors, agencies and volunteers, we appreciate each and every one. This year we had more than 250 individuals that donated items, which does not even include all the wonderful unknown donors that dropped items at company collections and friends’ houses. Thanks to them, we were able to distribute nearly 9000 gently loved items. All those gently-loved donations not only met critical needs, but also promoted sustainable practices and prevented needless production of goods.

Together, with the help of more than 200 individual volunteers and 30 partner companies/schools we accomplished a variety of community service and events. These activities ranged from kit making, collections, truck packing, supporting Ukrainian needs, working on a farm, picking up garbage and supporting the day to day efforts of Zharity.  We started the year with a new collections management system to help optimize donation coordination and collection, and a new storage unit that has increased our capacity for donations and improved distribution. In addition, we have been able to expand our events and activities offerings.

This year, we developed stronger relationships with schools and corporate partners. We hosted numerous activities, in addition to fundraisers, bringing us closer to a long term sustainable future. Financially, we went beyond our goals and have guaranteed our storage unit for another year. This effort allows us to continue to strengthen and reach our goals for 2023.
