Zharity at the Zürich Marathon for 2018

In the 2018 Zürich Marathon, Zharity supported Summits4hope in their efforts to collect donations that will help a village in Mozambique have clean drinking water and sanitary facilities.  Zharity's team included four extraordinary women -- Julia, Mette, Agata, and Hermina. They outdid themselves and finished the marathon in 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Summits4hope is an organization that believes clean water is a basic human right. They are working hard to make water more easily accessible in countries where it is not. Summits4hope invited runners of all levels to participate in the Zürich Marathon Team run, and collect donations by 'selling' the kilometers they eventually ran.

This time, a village of around 15,000 people will reap the benefits of these donations. 2,500 school children will have access to both water and toilets on the school grounds which will allow them a much improved learning environment. Having easier access to water will also not force parents to have their children bring water home in containers instead of going to school.

The Zharity team all agreed that running under the scorching sun has made them appreciate even more the ready supply of fresh and clean drinking water we all have at hand in Switzerland.

In the end, Summits4hope collected 101,775 Franks rendering all of their planned projects fully funded.
